Childhood obesity is a relevant public health problem associated with behavioral, environmental, dietary factors, and low levels of physical activity. This study aimed to analyze the effects of physical exercise on the prevention and treatment of obesity in children. This is a literature review based on scientific studies addressing childhood obesity, physical exercise, prevention, and health promotion. The theoretical framework highlights the influence of sedentary behavior and lifestyle habits on the development of obesity, as well as the benefits of regular exercise. The results demonstrate that physical exercise contributes to body weight control, improved physical fitness, metabolic health, and quality of life, representing an important strategy for prevention and treatment, especially when combined with adequate nutrition and the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits.
