Interventional Study.
No findings were extractable from the material analysed.
Safety was not reported in the material analysed. Check the source before drawing any conclusion about harm.
The source did not state who this applies to in practice.
Graded across the dimensions that decide whether you should act, each from what the source actually supports. There is no single score, and where a dimension was not assessed it says so.
This record has not been graded across any dimension yet. Treat the label above as provisional and read the source.
What is missing. This record has no bottom line, key findings, reported figures, evidence dimensions. That is a gap in the analysis, not a judgement about the study.
Registry record from ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT07675382). This is a study registration, not published results. Lead sponsor: Firat University. Recruitment status: COMPLETED. Phase: NA. Study type: INTERVENTIONAL. Enrollment: 44 participants (ACTUAL). Conditions: Obesity. Interventions: BEHAVIORAL: Hypocaloric Diet; DEVICE: Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES). Primary outcome measures: Change in Serum Irisin Concentration , Baseline and end of week 6; Change in Serum Betatrophin (ANGPTL8) Concentration , Baseline and end of week 6. Brief summary: This randomized controlled trial evaluated whether adding localized neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) to an individualized hypocaloric diet changes serum irisin and betatrophin (ANGPTL8) concentrations, body composition and cardiometabolic markers in women with obesity, compared with the diet alone. Forty-four women aged 18-65 years with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m2 or more were randomly assigned (1:1) to a diet-only group or a diet plus NMES group. NMES was applied to the abdominal and gluteal muscles twice weekly for six weeks (12 sessions of 20-25 minutes). The primary outcomes were the changes in serum irisin and betatrophin; the secondary outcomes were the changes in body weight, BMI, body fat percentage, fat mass, skeletal muscle mass and cardiometabolic markers, assessed at baseline and at the end of week 6.
